Actually, we don't know how this toaster was marketed but Sanyo was certainly trying to tap into the times (c. 1970) as the toast was marked with the words Peace and Love - Peace and Love are stamped out of metal and welded to the inside of the toaster. When toasting the metal script prevent that part of the bread from toasting as darkly.
